Back of vintage knit finished

I've done with the back of the 70's vintage knit, it took me a month to finish, such a long and slow knit though. The original pattern call for a shorter length top, just above the waist, as I'm not quite comfortable with short top, I've added in 2" on it's length. Hopefully it'll look good when finish. I like the feeling of this finished back, it's light and comfry on the skin, just hope it'll be so on the finished object later. For the front, I've passed the 8cm ribbing, on the way to knit the openwork pattern, guess this will take another 1 month to finish.

Cable bag

I'm currently working on this cable bag. The body already been blocked and now I'm on it's handle. It's a square hand carry bag, very similar to the garter stitch bag that I've done. Hopefully it'll look nice when done.
Nothing much on knitting, I take some break from knitting project and doing my grandmother flower patches quit. It's remaining 2' to be finished, that's about 4 flower rolls, I'm almost there. Got to get it done cause it has been abandoned by me for almost half a year. Don't want to drag it too long, hope I can finish it by May.

Pictures of my knitted bags

Got the pictures of the knitted bags that I've done. I love the second version of this garter stitch bag, it's my favorite colours. It's easy to carry and very spaceous as well. And I like the fish fabric on the handle, it's vintage fabric that sis got from some old store, very unique. I added in two small simple crocheted flowers instead of button as the first version. Buttons looks abit fancy to me and I like flower more than that.

I got the picture of the first version of garter stitch bag here as well, sorry that it's not clear cause it's taken from a hard copy photo to digital. This is how it look after I've attached some lovely vintage buttons that my mum got from her old garments.

Sew i knit

At last, I made my decision to join sew? i knit sew along-group. And the first project will be making a skirt. The skirt that I'm planning to sew is a layered skirt using plain thin and light cotton fabric that in my fabric stash. This is my first time joining along-group, hope it'll be fun and enjoyable to sew garments along with other members in the group.

p/s : Vanessa, Sorry that I forgot to mention in my previous post regarding the Clover download. Yes, you need to install Japanese version of Acrobat reader in order to view the download from Clover.

Outfit that I wish to sew

I'm so tempted to join the new sewing group that mentioned in Vanessa blog "sew?i knit!" cause I wish to sew these 2 outfits for so long and never been able to. However I afraid that I couldn't be able to follow their schedule in time to finish the garments. I only sew when I'm on leave and while I've much time to draft garment pattern, cut fabric and sew. The time frame that they gave is kind of short and I know I might not be able to follow, kind of bad.... :( Although I didn't join the group, I wish to see their progress in garments making, it's kind of exciting to see how other crafters come up with on their projects.

However, I'll put these two outfits into my wish list and maybe they will be my next sewing projects to be. Or maybe I'll join the sew-along group....just don't know, just can't make up my mind now....headache.....

Cute flowers

"Sin Nien Kuai Le!!" ("Happy Chinese New Year!!" in English term.)

I'd such a boring Chinese New Year break for past one week. The only place that I visited the most during that period was my In-Law's house. Luckily I did bring along my knitting project, or else I really have no idea how could I spend such a long time there. The back of the vintage knit is almost done, I'm on the armhole shaping and only few more inches to get it off the needle. Not the whole garment of course, just the back piece. I like the feel of the texture of this recycled yarns that I'm using on vintage knit, it's soft and airy. Hopefully, it'll be comfry to wear when finished. I also finished with the 2nd version knitted bag but I haven't got the picture of it yet, will show once I got the picture taken.

I found this two crocheted flower patterns from Clover's site, they're so cute. Maybe I'll try to do one after my current project. It's a free pattern and more other crafts could be found and download from Clover.

p/s : Mimi, yes I covered the fabric outside hard cardboard to make the bag handle. It's kind of tedius work to appliqued it onto the cardboard. I can't find the same shape of handle that I've made, so no choice that I need to use this method.
